His legacy continues through his family, who will cherish his memory: his daughter, Gwendolyn and husband Rory Minatrea, his son, William Lynn Fields, his grandson Rory Jr. and wife Angie Minatrea, his granddaughter, Kristy and husband John Oney, his great-granddaughters, Dakota (David), Kristin and Emerson, great-grandsons, Taylor (Josi), Briton, (twins) Wyatt and Jesse, great-great granddaughters, Evie Grace and Presley, great-great-grandsons, Jesse James and Conner who were the light of his life.

After graduating from Gladewater High School, Willie pursued higher education through college courses with his job that would lead him to a fulfilling career. For many years, he dedicated his professional life to Cherco Equipment, where he excelled as an equipment mechanic supervisor and shop manager. His work was not just a job; it was a passion that allowed him to travel the world, experience diverse cultures, and meet people from all walks of life.

Willie had a special love for singing and playing his guitar and is now playing in the heavenly choir. He had a passion for his Indian heritage and often spoke with fondness about Indian artifacts and the ceremonies he attended. Above all, Willie's love for his family was unmatched.

His faith was a cornerstone of his existence. Willie was a regular at bible study at Woodland Hills Baptist Church, where he deepened his faith and formed lifelong friendships.
