William "Dub" H. Newton passed away at age 95 on April 29, 2024, in Plano, Texas. He was born in Marshall, Texas. Dub was a dedicated individual, known for his love of football, fishing, and car races. He will be remembered for his warm personality and love for his family. He was happiest when he was cooking something for his loved ones. Dub is survived by his wife, Anesya Newton, who recently turned 100; his step-daughter, Lynda Gary and her two daughters, Jill and Lori and grandchildren Alex, Sam, Andrew, Kristen, Kelly, and Emily. Dub's journey began when he graduated from Marshall High School in 1948. He started his career at Piggly Wiggly and attended produce school in Jacksonville in 1949. He was in the Marine Corps (Air Casual Squadron 11) and returned to the Army In 1951 as a member of the 7h infantry division's communication corps during the Korean War. Upon his return, he excelled as a stock manager at Piggly Wiggly and later opened his own auto service shop in the early 60s. For over 25 years, Dub held various roles in sales and management at Sears, showcasing his strong work ethic and dedication. Those who knew Dub will remember him for his jovial spirit, his kindness, and his unwavering integrity. He made a positive impact on the lives of many and his loving heart and youthful enthusiasm will not be forgotten. His memory will be cherished and kept alive by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. A memorial service honoring Dub's life will be held in Marshall, Texas at 2:00pm on Saturday, May 4th at Sullivan Funeral Home with Bro. Craig Evers officiating
