Vivian Frances O'Dell lived a life of strength and determination no matter what came her way. She was born on January 21, 1929, in Dallas, Texas, a city she never forgot. Vivian's life journey came to a peaceful end early Sunday morning, May 18, 2025, at her beloved home of over 60 years. Throughout her 96 years she became the matriarch of her family and a testament to a life well lived. Vivian's zest for life extended well beyond her family into her many interests and hobbies. Her hands were rarely still, as she found joy in painting and crafting, a hobby which she lovingly shared with her husband Jack. She loved looking out at her garden from her veranda each day admiring God's handiwork. Additionally, Vivian's love for travel allowed her to explore many places, gathering inspiration and friendships along the way. She displayed her giving spirit by volunteering her time delivering meals on wheels, and other various church programs to assist those in need. She was always willing to lend a helping hand until physical limitations kept her from doing so. She is survived by her daughters Judy Holland and Janet Bramlett, grandchildren: Heather Blackmon and Beverly McCreery and husband Ed, great-grandchildren: Annie Wren and husband Rob, John Thomas and wife Miranda, Victoria Thomas, and Ariel Blackmon Chambliss, and great-great-grandchildren: Skylar, Hunter, Lilly Mae, Levi, Ella Rae, Lefty, Eli, Presleigh, and Willow, who will greatly miss her. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband William Jack O'Dell, parents William Alton and Viola King Jeter, brother Vincent Lee Jeter, and great-grandson Jared Jack Blackmon Chambliss, all of whom she has missed so dearly, and is now blessed to be reunited with again at last. Vivian's time on this earth has been an amazing journey of love, creativity, and service which has touched so many lives. As we say goodbye to her for now, we honor the change she has made in each of us, never forgetting her story does not end here. Her spirit lives on in our hearts forever. We will honor her legacy by continuing to grow in our faith, knowing that we will see her again.
