Virginia McKnight Life Story
A Life Celebration for Virginia R. McKnight will be held at the Ford Chapel of the First Baptist Church of Longview, Texas on Wednesday, June 19, 2019 at 2:00 P.M. Virginia was born on September 22, 1941, and went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on June 13, 2019.
Virginia was preceded in death by her husband, Joe T. McKnight; her father, William Brandon Carlon, Jr.; her mother, Ruth Virginia Kallweit; and her sister, Patricia E. Arnold.
She is survived by her sons and daughter-in-laws,Joel and Diane McKnight and Keith and Paula McKnight; nine grandchildren, Jonathan and Joshua, Steven, Daniel, Elizabeth, Benjamin, Matthew, Catherine, and Anna Claire McKnight; brother, William Brandon Carlon, III; sisters-in-law, Alta Lois McKnight Aldridge and Elsa Vargas McKnight; and many nieces and nephews.
Virginia graduated from Charlotte High School in 1959. She attended Sam Houston State University earning a BS Degree in Education in 1963, and was a member of the Kappa Delta Pi Honorary Education Society. She retired in 2003 after teaching 21 years in the Texas Public Schools.,
She was married to Joe T. Mcknight on August 24, 1963. They were married for 48 years.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church Longview where she was in the Precept Life Group and, they were her extended family of concerned caring and praying friends
The family would like to thank all those friends for their support during her many bouts with health problems
Visitation will be held at Welch Funeral Home on Tuesday, June 18, 2019, from 6:00 P.M. till 8:00 P.M.
A Life Celebration will be held on Wednesday, June 19, 2019, at 2:00 P.M. at First Baptist Church Longview in Fords Chapel.
In Lieu of flowers memorials in honor of Mrs. McKnight may be made to;
