Virginia Dudley Life Story

Life Celebration Services for Mrs. Virginia Dare Dudley, age 96, of Longview, Texas will be held on Thursday, August 8, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. at The Cammack Family Welch Funeral Home.

Virginia was born on January 7, 1928 in Bossier City Louisiana. While in High School, she was a cheerleader and Homecoming Queen. Virginia married Donald W. Dudley in 1946 and they had 3 children. Virginia loved school! While living in Ft Worth, she worked at Mullendore Elementary as the manager of the school cafeteria for 27 years. After retirement, Virginia and Donald spent a lot of their time at Lake Fork. Donald loved to fish, while Virginia would sew or read. They hosted many fish fry's and enjoyed time with their family and friends. She loved gardening and always had a beautiful yard of flowers. Virginia was a member of Greggton First Baptist Church in Longview. Her faith and family meant the world to her. She loved it when her kids, grandkids, and great-grandkids came to visit. Her home was always warm and inviting. She always reminded everyone to put their trust in the Lord. She was our biggest prayer warrior.

She loved the Lord and served Him faithfully until she was called home. She was known as Mom & Memaw and will forever be cherished in our hearts.

Virginia passed away at home on August 3, 2024 surrounded by her family. She was wonderfully cared for by the amazing team of nurses and aids of Heritage Hospice.

Virginia was predeceased by her parents Frank and Lela White, her husband Donald Dudley, sister Barbara Wilson, & grandson Brandon James Stewart. She is survived by her sister Annette Jones, daughter Sue Carol married to Sid Stewart, son Ray Dudley, daughter Jane Kizer & Fiancée Charlie Hoot. 3 grandkids, Amber Krumholtz married to Kenny Krumholtz, Jessica Talbert, Rachel Sweeden and Fiancée Clay Beam. 8 Great-grandkids Braelyn, Aubrey, & Peyton Sweeden, Cailey Beam, Hailey & John Talbert, Hayden & Keaton Krumholtz.
