Mz. Vicki "Nanny V" Brooks
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Mz Vicki Brooks (Mama/ Nanny V) a radiant soul who brought immeasurable love and light to the world. Mz Vicki was a devoted mother to her beloved son, Zac Turner, a loving daughter to her Mama, Martha "Mimi" Nichols, a fun loving "purple fruit loop Nanny V" to her grand kids, a big hearted rescuer to countless fur babies and a cherished friend to many. Her spirit, kindness, and extensive love for her family and friends made her a beacon of joy in their lives.
A passionate advocate for the care and protection of animals, Mz Vicki dedicated herself to countless dog and cat rescues, everywhere she had ever lived. Throughout her life, she heroically rescued and cared for hundreds if not thousands of "fur babies," honoring and cherishing each one with her big heart.
Mz Vicki was preceded in death by her father, Dick Brown; her stepfather, Dewey Nichols; her grandparents, Herman and Pansy Blackmon; her brother, Ricky Brown; and her aunt, Annie Ruth Roberson. She is survived by her son, Zac Turner, and his wife, Courtney; her adored grandchildren: Ashton Turner, Dillon Geary, Emma Turner, Mylee Turner, Tyler Day, and Devin Day. Mz Vicki also leaves behind her loving mother, Martha Nichols; her stepmother, Beth Brown; her brother, Mark Brown, and his family; her sister, Kathy Brown; and a multitude of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, friends, and of course, her beloved fur babies.
A memorial service will take place at the Marshall, Texas Civic Center in the Americana Room on August 24. The family will receive guests from 1:30PM to 5 PM. We invite all who knew her to share fond and loving stories or pictures, during this time. The family is working to have food and refreshments available for all attendees.
