Trenton Jones Life Story

Trenton Leroy Jones, affectionately known as Trenton to all who knew him, passed away peacefully on November 29, 2025, at the age of 73. Born on January 7, 1952, in Harleton, Texas, Trenton was a lifelong resident of Texas, taking his last breath in the comfort of his home in Marshall. Trenton's life was marked by unwavering devotion to his family, a strong work ethic, and a love for the simple pleasures in life. He is survived by his beloved wife of 47 years, Patricia Ann Jones, who was the cornerstone of his life. His legacy continues through his daughters, Trisha Ritter and her husband, Billy, and Tiffiane Jones and her husband, Perry Dillard. He was a proud grandfather to Dustin Ritter and his wife, Samantha, Joshua Ritter, Holly Ritter, Kyla Sanchez and her husband Cameron White, Alfonzo Sanchez, Kayden Jones, and Garrett Hubbard and his wife, Karen. The joy of his later years was further multiplied by his great-grandchildren, Payton Shastid, Paisley Shastid, Landon McConnell, Josephine Ritter, Caysen White, J. B. Hubbard, Waylon Hubbard, and Liam Hubbard. Trenton was the cherished brother of Margaret Dickson, Percillia Reed, and Mary Leal. His family circle was wide, encompassing numerous relatives and friends who all felt the warmth of his kindness. Trenton was preceded in death by his mother, Mahala Starr, and his brother, James Lewis Jones, both of whom he held dear in his heart. For many years, Trenton dedicated himself to his work at Texas Scrap and Metal. His colleagues there became a second family, appreciating his loyalty and the camaraderie he brought to the workplace. Trenton's involvement in his community was felt by many, and his absence will leave a void that cannot be easily filled. An avid outdoorsman, Trenton cherished the times he could cast a line into the water, waiting patiently for the catch of the day. He was equally content with a rifle in hand, venturing into the woods to hunt. Yet, nothing compared to the simple pleasure he found in sipping coffee while listening to his police scanner, a pastime that brought him immense satisfaction. Above all, his grandchildren were his true passion. Each moment spent with them was treasured, leaving behind a myriad of memories that will be recounted for generations. Trenton was a homebody at heart, rarely venturing far from the comforts of his own hearth. However, he did make an exception to attend a family member's wedding in Galveston-a trip that combined his reluctance to travel with his love for fishing, culminating in the unforgettable experience of reeling in a shark from the ocean. Trenton's life was a testament to the values of family, hard work, and enjoying life's simple moments. His presence was a source of stability and love for all who were blessed to know him. As we say goodbye to Trenton Leroy Jones, we celebrate a life well-lived, full of moments that defined the richness of his character and the depth of his heart. His memory will be cherished and kept alive in the stories shared by those who loved him most. The family would like to express their heartfelt appreciation to Heartsway Hospice for the love and care provided to Trenton and the family during this time.
