Thomas Ray Hairston

Thomas Ray Hairston, 77, of Longview, Tx passed away Thursday October 26, 2023. Ray was born in Timpson, TX to parents Lester & Lela Hairston on December 13, 1945.

Ray was a crane operator by profession and retired from Joyce Crane in Longview. He was a faithful member of Woodland Hills Baptist Church and could often be found playing 42 with church members on game nights or HillToppers events and at the Green Street Community Center. Ray could be heard early mornings and most evenings as CraneMan on the CB radio and came to know other CB enthusiasts as friends.

Ray was survived by Cecelia Hairston, his wife of 58 years, his daughter and daughter in law Kristen & Kristy Carwile and grandson Kaeden Carwile, his daughter and son in law Alison & Sam Logan and grandchildren Ashlee Logan, Karter Logan, Karsyn Logan, Ethan Thompson, and Jackson Logan, great grandson Kaiston Logan and brother Doyle Hairston.

Services for Ray will be held Thursday November 2nd at Woodland Hills Baptist Church in Longview, TX. The family will receive friends at a time of visitation at 11am with the service to follow at 12.
