Terry Sirmons Life Story

On August 14, 2021, Terry Sirmons, 45 years of age, went to be with the Lord in Heaven. He is preceded in death by his Father, Charles Sirmons, and his twin brother David Sirmons. He is survived by his wife of 22 years, Stephanie Sirmons; his son Nolan Sirmons; his daughter Hannah Sirmons; his mother Linda Sirmons; his sister Leslie Sirmons and her husband Sergio Hernandez; and his nieces and nephews.
For Terry, family was the most important thing in his life. After graduation from Angelo State University in 1999; he married and started his own family with his loving wife. He worked hard to provide for his family. He made sacrifices in his continued education and career choices, so that he could provide for his family while his daughter received specialized care needed from Dallas Children Hospital. Once his daughter received her liver transplant, Terry was able to pursue his lifelong dream of working for the railroad. He was offered a job opportunity with Union Pacific Railroad, and with his determination, he fast-tracked his way to the management level. Relocation came with each new advancement in his 19 years of work. Always keeping his family front and center; he would meticulously seek out housing that was in the best school districts to provide his children the greatest opportunities for education and personal development. Terry would attend his son's practices and athletic events even if it meant he had to start his workday at 4:30 a.m.
Terry was a paternal compass for his nephews and nice after the passing of his twin brother, their father. He has mentored young men that have come into his life through his son's athletic events. Terry would drop everything in a second to help a family member in need. During the height of Covid, He drove 5 hours to evacuate his uncle after a hurricane destroyed southern Louisiana.
Consider yourself lucky if you were ever invited to eat Terry's cooking. He was a pit master and could turn out the best brisket, steaks, ribs, and burgers. Most weekends, you could find him grilling poolside watching football with his family and friends. He loved football and was honored to be a part of the Lakeview High School team that was inducted into the hall of fame for their 1994 District and Bi-District Championships.
