Sylvia Crawford Life Story
Sylvia Stocks Crawford, age 76, passed away in Fort Worth, Texas on December 18, 2023. She was born in Gilmer, Texas on January 31, 1947 to Faye and Merle Taylor. She was raised in Marshall, Texas with one sibling, Olivia Barker Stocks.
Sylvia attended Sam Houston and David Crockett Elementary Schools In Marshall,
Marshall Junior and Senior High School, graduating from Marshall High School.
She attended cosmetology school in Longview Texas. She did hair styling in Waskom, Texas where she and her husband, Virgil Crawford lived for several years. She was the mother to a beautiful daughter, Karen Crawford and a Grandmother to two boys named Matthew and Travis.
Sylvia was musically talented with several instruments. The piano, flute, violin and guitar.
She never took music lessons. She had an ear for music and was self-taught.
She also loved to knit. She has made several blankets and throws for family members.
She had a gift for writing poetry. This started when she was young. We have shared some of our favorites with you in the handout.
She loved spending time with family and friends and playing games. Yahtzee is her favorite game. And, of course, she was always the winner. LOL
She had a contagious giggle. One of the things we loved most about her.
Sylvia was baptized at Eastern Hill Church of Christ. She loves Jesus and knows where she will spend her eternity. Most important to our family. Comforting.
Her best friend is her sister Olivia. They cherish the bond they share. She simply called her Sister.
