Steven Lee Smith

Steven Lee Smith was born December 25, 1978 in Dallas, Texas. At the age of 2, Shirley and John Smith welcomed Steven into their lives, and they became his forever family. Steven grew up in Dallas where he attended school and graduated from Carter High School in 1999.

Steven exemplified what it meant to live life in the moment and was passionate about helping others. Known for his enormous and caring heart, he was a loving son, brother, uncle, nephew and cousin. He had the personality to make friends no matter the situation. Steven will always be remembered for his kindness, caring, generosity and the time he gave for people around him. He made his way into the hearts of all who knew him. He loved his family.

Steven was preceded in passing by his maternal grandparents, Franklin Sr. and Gladys Godfrey and his paternal grandfather, Henry Smith. He is survived by his parents, John and Shirley Smith; his sister, Joanette Woods (Patrick); his niece, Eboni Williams; his great-niece, Brooklyn White and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Steven departed this earthly life on August 22, 2023 at the age of 44.
