Steven Joe Ratcliff was born January 9, 1948, in Shreveport, Louisiana to Joe Crawford Ratcliff and Lillian Elaine Shirley Ratcliff and died on October 27, 2024, at his home in Marshall, Texas.
Steve graduated from Waskom High School; he graduated college from Stephen F. Austin University.
He was predeceased by his parents, Joe C. Ratcliff and Elaine Shirley Ratcliff. He is survived by his wife, Sheila Howell Ratcliff; his brother, Roger Ratcliff (and wife Liz); his children, Mark Alan Ratcliff (and wife Diane), Dr. Steven Mathew Ratcliff (and wife Lindsey), and Anne Louise Dominski (and husband Chris); his grandsons, Cody W. Griffin (and wife Annkarlee), Jaxon M. Ratcliff, and Grayson A. Ratcliff; great-grandsons, Maverick W. Griffin and Rizer B. Griffin; his nieces, Rachel Aydelotte and Amanda Nikkel, and other family.
He loved the Lord, his family, his friends, his church community, and his country. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, horse racing, watching football and basketball, but most importantly, he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and was most proud of teaching his Anchor Sunday School class at Immanuel Baptist Church.
He has done many things during his life from serving in the United States Army to coaching football, basketball, and baseball. He also worked as an auto mechanic at the old Ford dealership, a chemist at Ark-La-Gas plant, and school bus driver for both Waskom ISD and Marshall ISD.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 29, 2024 from 5:00 till 7:00 P.M. at The Cammack Family Directors of Funerals located at 100 E. Travis Street. Marshall.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, October 30, 2024 at Immanuel Baptist Church in Marshall at 10:00 A.M.
