Shirley Thompson Life Story

Shirley Ann Pamplin Thompson, 85, of Longview, Texas, passed away on Wednesday, December 10, 2025, after a short illness at Longview Regional Hospital.
Born in Dallas, Texas to Floyd Guy Pamplin and Martha Velma Wilson Pamplin, Shirley grew up on a dairy farm in Clarksville. She was a proud graduate of Detroit High School in Detroit, Texas, where she was the salutatorian of her class, a member of the Eagles basketball team, and involved in several high school clubs, earning the title of "most popular" her senior year.
Shirley had a distinguished career as a Texas Realtor, beginning in Tyler, Texas, in 1968, and continuing in Longview for many years. Outside of her professional life, she was a dedicated member of the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority and taught Sunday School at the First Presbyterian Church in Tyler in the early 1970s. She was also an active, long-time member of the VFW Post #4002 in Longview and a longtime member of the First Methodist Church in Marshall, Texas.
Shirley will be lovingly remembered by her children, Debbie Mayo, Amy Gay and Ty Thompson, grandchildren, Luke Mayo, Elaine Mayo, Corey Gay, Leah Gay, Kate Thompson and Trent Thompson.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, December 18th, 2025, from 5:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m. in the Garden Court of the Cammack Family Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Friday, December19th, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. in the Cammack Family chapel. Interment will follow at the Woodland Cemetery, Bagwell, Texas.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to First Methodist Church, Marshall, Texas or VFW Post #4002, Longview, Texas
