Shawn Thomas Post

Shawn Thomas Post was born on April 30, 1985, in Longview, Texas and died on April 7, 2022, in his home in Longview, Texas of natural causes.

To know Shawn was to love him. He was loving, kind, and talented man who could light up any room just by walking in. A very passionate person, Shawn had a great love of art, design, and gardening which allowed him to bring his amazing style to any situation or location. Shawn was always ready to offer his opinion on wardrobe choices, hair, makeup, and jewelry (whether you wanted it or not), but without error you would always look and feel better after following his advice. A great companion, he had friends all over the country. Shawn was a graduate of Spring Hill High School and found great joy in his job at The Gallery of Lights, helping customers find just the right touch for their project.

He is survived by his mother, Lori Ellison of Longview, Texas; father and step mother, Darrell and Stacy Post of Nolanville, Texas; sister and brother-in-law, Crystal and Neal Burgess of Flint, Texas; grandmother, Jean Hill of Jacksonville, Texas; grandmother, Myrtle Post of Madisonville, Texas; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. Shawn was preceded in death by grandfather, Gene Hill and grandfather, Tom Post.

The family would like to invite friends for a time of visitation on Tuesday, April 12, 2022, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 pm in the Garden Court of Welch Funeral Home. A private funeral service will be held.

The outpouring of love from his many friends since his passing has been staggering. Shawn will be dearly missed by his family and friends, but the love and legacy he left behind will live on in all of us.
