Shannon Parrott Life Story

Shannon Rene' Parrott, affectionately known as "Gigi," passed away on November 18, 2023, in Longview, Texas. She was born on December 15, 1969, in Center, Texas, to Betty and Leonard Burnett. Gigi was a woman of vibrant spirit, characterized by her kindness, friendliness, and boundless love for her family.

Gigi is survived by her devoted husband of 37 years, Richard Linwood Parrott, Sr. Their love story was one for the ages, filled with laughter, companionship, and enduring commitment. She was a loving mother to Rachel Lynn Gabbard and her husband, Dakota, Richard "Bud" Parrott, Jr., and Miles Dalton. Her world revolved around her grandchildren, Madison Dalton, Hayden Parrott, and Kerrigan Parrott, who she showered with affection and love.

Gigi also leaves behind her parents-in-law, Paul and Karla Parrott and Ronald and Judy Denny; her brothers-in-law, Michael Parrott and Josh Markle and his wife, Emily; daughter-in-law, Jeannie Bishop, and her siblings, Roger Leon Burnett, Barbara Ann Burnett Walker, John Michael Burnett, and Sandra Kay Burnett Williams and her husband, Bob. Her nieces and nephews John, Eric, Shelby, Chrystal, Jennifer, Hope, Stephanie, Roger, and Melissa, along with her great-nieces and nephews Christopher, Savannah, Xavier, Ian, Brooklynn, Madison, Edwin, Zoe, and Gavin, will remember her fondly. Gigi also leaves behind her very special friend, Amy Stevens, who added a unique sparkle to her life. She was preceded in death by her parents, Betty and Leonard Burnett.

Professionally, Gigi was a respected member of the Marshall Appraisal District, where she worked for many years as a Mapper. She took immense pride in her work and loved the challenges and camaraderie it brought into her life.

Gigi was a woman of many passions. She had an unapologetic love for minions and even owned a minion translator. She loved fishing, although she always refused to bait the hook or remove the catch, adding a sense of humor to her fishing trips. Her culinary skills were legendary among her family and friends, always ready to try new recipes, especially those that included new spices.

Gigi had a penchant for loud colors, sparkles, and what she fondly referred to as 'junk jewelry.' However, her favorite passion in life was her grandchildren, who she often referred to as her 'grandbabies.' Her eyes would light up every time she spoke about them, a testament to the love and pride she had for her family.

In closing, Gigi's life was a testament to her kindness, friendliness, and love. Her zest for life, her love for her family, and her vibrant spirit will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to have known her. Her legacy will live on in the hearts and minds of her loved ones. Gigi will be deeply missed, but her memory will forever be cherished.

Friends and family have shared their relationship to show their support.
