William Scott Lee, affectionately known to many as Scotty, was a beacon of light and love throughout his 67 years of life. Born on February 19, 1959, in Houston, Texas, he brought joy and laughter into the world. Scotty's journey on earth came to a peaceful end on February 19, 2026, in Marshall, Texas, where he was surrounded by the warmth and affection of his cherished family. Scotty's life was a testament to the power of love and the strength of family bonds. He was preceded in death by his beloved son, Blake Lee; his father, Dub Lee; and his mother-in-law, Pat Berry. The legacy of his kind spirit is carried on by his devoted wife, Dawn Elizabeth Lee, who was the love of his life and partner in every sense. His memory will also be treasured by his son and daughter-in-law, Canon and Brittany Lee; his daughter and son-in-law, Cassie and Martin Lessard; his adored grandchildren-Caroline, Preston, Landon, Tristan, and Simon-who filled his days with laughter and pride; his loving mother, Connie Lee; his father-in-law, Jerry Berry; his sister and brother-in-law, Susie and Tim Guyer; his brother and sister-in-law, Tracy and Tammy Lee; his sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Detta and Brian Harville and Debbie and David Fielden; and a host of relatives and friends who were honored to know him. A proud high school graduate, Scotty was a man of many talents. He was a former business owner of Dawn's Caddo Crossing and a skilled carpenter, known for his craftsmanship and attention to detail. But perhaps his most cherished skill was his amazing ability to bake a pie-a talent he generously shared with many. Scotty's pies were more than just desserts; they were symbols of his love and care for others. Scotty was a man who found solace and joy in the simple pleasures of life. He was passionate about gardening, finding peace in the beauty of nature and the satisfaction of nurturing growth. His home away from home was often filled with the laughter and conversation of family and friends during "Tea Time at the Chicken Ranch," his favorite place ever. It was here that Scotty's hospitality and personality created a place of fun for all who came. Always the first to offer help, Scotty was a friend and helper to anyone in need. He could often be found lending a hand, sharing a joke, or offering a listening ear. His positive attitude and willingness to spend time with others made him a beloved figure in his community. Scotty's faith was a cornerstone of his life. He loved the Lord with unwavering devotion and faced the last 14 months of his life with grace and dignity. His positive attitude never wavered, and he lived by his plan to "fight the good fight until his Master rang the bell." Scotty did so with courage and unrelenting strength. The family wishes to extend their heartfelt thanks to Dakota Golden for his exceptional craftsmanship on the casket, fulfilling Scotty's request perfectly. They also express their sincere gratitude to Dr. Scott Kohlert, his team at Northeast Texas Cancer and Research Institute and Belinda Anderson, NP, his PalliCare Nurse for their love and care shown to both Scotty and Dawn in their courageous battle against cancer; to Joe and Betty Lambright and Miss Ellie Thompson for their help, love and care of the family during this time. Scotty will be remembered as THE friend that every person should be blessed to have in their life. His memory will live on in the hearts of those he touched, and his spirit will continue to inspire kindness, generosity, and love in all who knew him. Pallbearers will be Gene Childs, Dakota Golden, Scott Graham, Marcey Clement, Tyler Hays and Barry Huffman.
