Ruby, known affectionately by all as a loving and selfless person, was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 63 years, Bobby Newland, and her son-in-law, Don Carson. Her legacy of love and devotion lives on through her children: Janet Carson, Jeanie Clark and her husband Greg, and Joe Newland and his wife Michelle. Ruby's joy was multiplied through her six grandsons and their families: Brian Clark, John Clark, Cody Carson, Colter Carson, Max Newland, and Chad Newland, as well as her eleven great-grandchildren, who will forever hold precious memories of their grandmother's warmth and kindness. Ruby's educational journey began at Marshall High School, from which she graduated with a strong foundation that would support her lifelong passion for learning and teaching. Her commitment to education led her to East Texas Baptist College, where she earned her degree in Elementary Education, and later to Stephen F. Austin University, where she received her Master's degree. Ruby's academic accomplishments were only the beginning of her profound impact on the lives of countless students. For over 20 years, Ruby enlightened young minds as a teacher in the Marshall School District, where she enjoyed teaching all subjects with a special blend of rigor and compassion. Her dedication to nurturing the potential in every child was evident in her classroom and beyond. Ruby also served as the secretary at First Baptist Church in Marshall while pursuing her education, and her involvement with the church deepened throughout her life. Ruby's devotion to her faith was unwavering, as she lovingly taught Sunday School for many years and lifted her voice in praise as a member of the church choir. Her connection with First Baptist Church was not just one of service but of deep fellowship, cherishing the many friends she made within its walls. Family was the cornerstone of Ruby's life, and she cherished every moment spent with her grandsons and great-grandchildren. The gatherings with her family were the highlight of her life, filled with laughter, stories, and the nurturing presence that only Ruby could provide. Her interests extended to painting and traveling, with a particularly memorable trip to the Holy Land that deepened her faith and connection to her religious roots. A voracious reader, Ruby found solace and inspiration in the Bible and was an active participant in many church activities. Ruby's character was the epitome of loving and faith-filled. She approached life with a selfless spirit, always placing the needs of others before her own. Her unwavering support and unconditional love have left an indelible mark on the hearts of those who knew her. Ruby Beatty Newland's journey on earth may have concluded, but her spirit continues to resonate through the lives she touched.
