Ruby Bretz Life Story
Life Celebration Funeral Services for Lois Bretz, 91, of Farmersville, TX is scheduled for Monday, May 13, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. at The Cammack Family Chapel of Welch Funeral Home, Longview. A time of visitation will be held on Monday, May 13, 2024 from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Welch Funeral Home.
Lois was born January 12, 1933, in Bandera, TX.
Lois was a great wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was referred as "Grandma" and "Gigi". She loved playing with them and being around her family.
She loved Jesus. She could be heard talking or singing to the Lord throughout the day and night. She loved to sing. She loved to talk to people about Jesus. She was a great example of a Christian to her family, friends and the girls she taught. She loved to serve others and was a true example of how Jesus served others. She loved teaching Sunday School. She was also a great listener and observer.
She loved to get together with friends and family for games and fellowship. One of her greatest pleasures with her grandchildren was to have them visit with her for the summer. She would have up to six of them at one time staying with her.
Lois was preceded in death by her husband Bob of 67 years, children, Bobby, Billy and Julie.
Those left to cherish her memory are her daughters and sons-in-law, Delphiene and Walter Martin, Karen and Lee Blanton and Daniel Peurifoy. Grandchildren, Fey Harkness and Steve Rynders, Joanne and Teddy Sosnowski, Cari and Seth Rasco, Jenny Cutlip, Mandy and Isaac Fuller, Matt Blanton, Tara and Shonan Aycock, Lindsay Peurifoy and Joey Berry. Eight great-grandchildren and one on the way. Brenna and Mayleigh Aycock, Sofia, Bella and Felix Sosnowski, Audrey Rasco, Catie and James Fuller. Her siblings, Sally Reus, Frances Foust and Roger Roberts along with many cousins, nieces and nephews.
She was graciously served by Vitas Healthcare.
