Roy Brunson Life Story

Roy Wallace Brunson passed away on September 9, 2024. Please join us at Sullivan's Funeral Home in Marshall, Texas, on September 28, 2024 to celebrate the life of this extraordinary man. The visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. followed by a Life Celebration Memorial at 11:00 a.m.

Roy was born to Thomas "TW" Brunson and Mary Joann Brunson on November 17, 1949 in Palestine, Texas, but this would just be the beginning of his beautiful life. In 1972, Roy married Dorothy, affectionately known as "Dot", and together they would start a new adventure having four children and settling down in what would always be known as home in Karnack, Texas. His career started as a Union Ironworker erecting structural steel buildings and bridges all across the U.S. which lead into career advancements as a Certified Welding Inspector, an Apprenticeship Coordinator, and ending his career as Business Manager of Union Ironworker Local 591 in Shreveport, LA. Roy was an avid lover of motorcycles, whether it was feeling the breeze on his face on the open road or tinkering in the backyard, he greatly enjoyed them. His other hobbies included working on automobiles, NASCAR, and spending time outdoors, but above all else, Roy loved spending time with his family around the picnic table at their home. He valued his family and was a pillar of strength, steadfast in his love that will endure the test of time.

Roy is preceded in death by his father, Thomas "TW" Brunson, his mother, Mary Joann Brunson, his brother, Joe David Brunson, and his grandson, Andrew James Epperson, "AJ".

He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Brunson, son Joe Brunson (Diana), daughter, Brenda Eisenlohr (Jason), son, John Brunson (Mandy), daughter, Beverly Hopkins (Shannon), thirteen grandchildren, and ten great grandchildren as well as many more family and
friends.
