Rosemarie Louise (DeMeyer) Francis

January 22, 1935 ~ July 12, 2020 (age 85)

Obituary

Rosemarie Francis, age 85, passed away Sunday, June 12, 2020 peacefully with her family by her side after over a decade decline from Alzheimers. She was born on January 22, 1935 in Moline, Illinois to Charles and Celesta DeMeyer. She married Rodney Paul Francis on May 1, 1954 who proceeded her in death in 2010.
Rosemarie was a devout wife, mother and grandmother. She cherished family time, traveling, collecting and making teddy bears, spending time at the lake, taking walks and working in the yard with her plants and flowers. Rosemarie always had an unfinished project with the best of intentions and a home filled with her treasures.
She was a homemaker while raising their family and worked later in life where she retired from American Airlines corporate headquarters in Fort Worth, Texas.
Rosemarie was an only child and is survived by her 4 children, 5 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. Son, Kim Francis of Sterling, CO; daughter Christine Francis of Euless, TX; daughter Michelle Francis of Seminole, FL; and daughter Mindy Francis Scott and her husband Jim Scott of Longview, TX. Grandchildren Carrie Fischer; Cody Barrett and wife Kristin; Jeremy Barrett and wife Elizabeth; Charlie Scott and Anna Scott.
Even when her memory failed– her Christian Catholic faith remained, being able to recite prayers, still wanting priests visits, the Eucharist and the sacrament of anointing of the sick.
Due to COVID-19 concerns, the family will not have a visitation. Instead, please say a rosary in the comfort of your home in communion with the family on Wednesday, July 15, 2020 at 7:00 pm in remembrance of Rosemarie.
A private mass will be held at St. Therese Catholic Church in Canton, TX on Thursday, July 16, 2020 before her final interment at Emerald Hills Memorial Park in Kennedale, TX alongside her husband.
Instead of flowers, consider a donation to your local or national Alzheimer’s association or plant a tree at a location of your choice as Rosemarie always enjoyed nature.
