Robert Lewis Cromer Life Story

Robert Lewis Cromer, affectionately known to his friends as Lewis, embarked on his final journey on February 16, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of laughter, love, and always-entertaining stories. He was born on October 27, 1954, in Marshall, Texas.
Lewis truly lived, putting his family first and loving them fiercely. He greeted each day with the question, "What fun will I have today?" Whether he was fishing, skydiving, golfing, or traveling, he embraced life with a smile and an adventurous heart.
While earning his Bachelor of Science degree from Texas A&M University, Lewis began working at Kroger Foods Company, using his determination and grit to put himself through college. His distinguished career in the oil and gas industry was global, taking his family from Aberdeen, Scotland, to The Hague, Netherlands, and to Dubai. As a Completions Engineer and later as Regional Manager for BJ Services, he thrived professionally; however, like a true Texan, he ultimately returned home to Marshall to finish his career and retire among the piney woods and familiar faces of East Texas.
His faith in Jesus Christ guided his life. Lewis was a man of many interests, but family always came first. He was the family's biggest fan, attending all of his grandkids' sporting events, making daily calls to give words of encouragement, and always lightening the mood with his humor. Lewis loved casting a line with his grandchildren, early morning duck hunting, competitive rounds of golf and tennis, and most recently, pickleball. Friendly to all, never meeting a stranger, Lewis lived his life fully and without regret, filling his days with love and laughter. He will be deeply missed, but his stories, his faith, and his joy will continue to echo through the lives he touched.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 43 years, Stacy. Their marriage was a beautiful rally of faith, friendship, and lively conversation. He is also survived by his son Zachary Allen Cromer, and daughter-in-law, Kelly Smith Cromer; his daughter Kelli Nicole Cromer; and cherished grandsons, Aidan Zachary Cromer, Kaden Cromer Wells, and Madden Rolee Cromer. Lewis is further survived by his sisters, Gail Enloe and Edie Gobert, and his brother, Hughey Cromer, and sister-in-law, Janice Cromer, and many nieces and nephews.
Our family has peace knowing that Lewis was a man of faith, and that he is now home with Jesus Christ.
