Robert Owen Durham Sr.
On Friday, June 25th 2021, Robert O. Durham Sr., Husband, Father, and brother passed away at the age of 74. Robert was born November 11, 1946 in Paris Texas to James and Ruby Durham.
He joined the Air Force and served 2 terms in Vietnam. After the War he met and married his wife, Mary Lee Whitten- Durham in 1976. Robert retired from Haverty’s Furniture Company after 24 years of service. He spent several years working for Pine Tree ISD before fully retiring with health issues.
He is the father of two children, Heather Marie Durham and Robert Owen Durham Jr. In addition he is Grandfather of Austin Whitten Hill, Dash David Durham, Kendra Jan Durham, and Ripp Robert Durham. Robert is survived by his sister, Barbara G. Huges and family, two brother; Harvey E. Durham and family, and William A. Durham and family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Ruby Durham, brothers James D. Durham and Jerry D. Durham.
Robert Durham is remembered by his family and friends for having a strong work ethic, great sense of humor and for being a loving caring selfless Christian man.
A memorial mass will be held in his honor on Friday, July 2, 2021 at 10:00 A.M. at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Longview, Texas with Father Dan Dower officiating. Military Honors will be provided by the United States Air Force. Entombment will take place at a later date at the St. Mary's Catholic Church Columbarium Wall.
