Robert Lunsford Life Story
On Monday, February 15, 2021, Robert Clarence Lunsford, finished his race on earth and entered into the eternal rest and presence of His Lord.
Robert was born on June 29, 1958 in Mt. Pleasant, Texas to Frank and Betty Lunsford. He grew up in the Longview, Texas. Robert worked as a service technician for many years at DXP Enterprises. Robert met his lifetime partner/soul mate Cathy Lunsford in 1987. They lived in Longview, Texas for many years and from there moved to Diana, Texas in 1994. They raised 3 beautiful girls together: Betty Lucile Lunsford, Mikayla Rennae Lunsford, & Tasha Nicole O’Con.
Robert enjoyed the great outdoors and loved to travel with his family. Arkansas was his favorite state to visit. He enjoyed sports, always the loudest one cheering his children on. He enjoyed cooking and eating good food, building things, and spending time with his friends and family. He enjoyed serving the community and spent many years working the concession stand in Harleton.
Robert loved his Harleton Baptist Church family. He had a passion to reach others by serving at different events at the church.
Robert cared deeply for and treasured the family that the Lord entrusted him with. He was preceded in death by his father, Frank Clarence Lunsford, mother, Betty Joyce Lunsford, and sister Joy Lou Jackson. He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his lifetime partner/soul mate, Catherine Renee Lunsford, daughter and son in law, Betty Lucile Lunsford-Reed and Faron Reed, daughter Mikayla Rennae Lunsford, special niece Tasha Nicole O’Con-Moore. Robert leaves behind five grandchildren whom he loved very much: Gavin Alexander Nugent, Ryder Lee Reed, Dixie Janae Reed, Cole Daniel Reed, Jaron Mikah Reed and many other cousins and in-laws who loved him dearly.
The family will receive friends for a time of visitation on Friday, February 26, 2021 at Welch Funeral Home from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. A Life Celebration funeral service will be held Saturday, February 27, 2021 at 2:00 P.M Welch Funeral Home with Bro. Brent Lowery officiating.
