Richard Keith "Ricky" Jones, a cherished soul known for his boundless humor and zest for life, passed away on December 31, 2025, at the age of 62 in Longview, Texas. Born on March 22, 1963, in Marshall, Texas, Ricky's infectious laughter and competitive spirit were a beacon of joy for all who knew him. Ricky was a beloved family man, leaving behind a legacy of love and laughter. He was preceded in death by his adored wife, Debby Jones, his parents, Letty Mae and Melvin Cleo Jones, and his sister, Tracy Jones. His memory will be treasured by his children Kandis Rogers and her husband, Trey, Lauren Brooks, Maeghan Longoria and her husband, David, Josh Watson and his wife, Gena, and Lance Mathis and his wife, Brittany. His grandchildren, Kailyn Mathis, Kylie Leonard, Zack Schoenthal, Grady Mathis, Landry Leonard, Hallie Brooks, and Tallon Stevens, will miss their grandfather's playful spirit and life lessons wrapped in humor. Also mourning Ricky's passing are his siblings, Debbie Green and her husband, Billy, Nancy Neu and her husband, Kevin, Tony Muse and his wife, Stefanie, and Doug Muse and his wife, Pam. His extended family and countless friends will remember Ricky as a man who could light up any room with his quick wit and jovial banter. Ricky dedicated many years of his life to road and bridge construction, working at East Texas Bridge and at Longview Bridge and Road. His colleagues respected him for his unparalleled work ethic and his ability to find humor in even the most challenging situations. An avid comedian at heart, Ricky had the rare talent of making anything funny. His sense of humor was only matched by his fierce competitiveness. From a young age, he excelled in darts, bowling, pool, washers, and cornhole. Even if he hadn't picked up a dart in months, Ricky was known to come out a winner, much to the delight and chagrin of his opponents. Ricky's passion for life extended to his love for Nascar, hunting, fishing, golfing, racing, and games of all kinds. He played the drums in high school and had a voice that could carry a tune as well as it could carry a joke. He was a man of many talents, and whether he was on the racetrack, in the bowling alley, or casting a line into the water, Ricky did it with enthusiasm and an unwavering dedication to being the best. As we bid farewell to Richard Keith "Ricky" Jones, we celebrate a life lived to the fullest. His laughter, love, and legacy will continue to resonate in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to have felt the warmth of his presence. Ricky's journey on earth may have concluded, but the echoes of his laughter and the memories of his companionship will forever be etched in our minds and souls.
