Robert Glynn Gray III, affectionately known as RG, was born on May 7, 1991, and went to be with his Lord on Friday, August 16, 2024, from his home in Gladewater, TX. RG graduated from Pine Tree High School in 2012. Despite enduring 27 surgeries and countless hospital visits, he never lost his spirit. His unwavering smile and his ability to defy the odds were truly inspiring.
RG loved sports. His favorite teams were the Texas Longhorns, Dallas Cowboys, and Texas Rangers. However, nothing compared to his love and loyalty to the Ohio State Buckeyes. RG loved his family, friends, and church, but most of all, his Savior. Though he did not completely understand the meaning of salvation, he knew he loved Jesus. RG was constantly singing praises to his Savior, in the church choir, in special music groups, and daily at home. RG will be highly missed, and there will be a hole in the many lives that he touched.
RG is survived by his parents, Bob and Kelly Gray, of Gladewater, Texas; his big sister DeAnna Doyle and her husband Josh of Longview, Texas; and his little brother - who was truly a big brother to him - Jordan Gray and his wife Grace of Gladewater, Texas. He loved his nieces and nephews: Blake, Grayson, Natalie, Grant, Chip, and Savannah. He is also survived by his grandmother, Shelbia Queen of Gladewater, Texas, and his grandfather, Bob Gray Sr. of Jacksonville, Florida. He had multiple aunts, uncles, and cousins that he loved dearly. RG was preceded in death by his grandfather, Robert Queen Sr., grandmother, Lee Ann Gray, and cousin, Katie Gray.
Funeral services will be held Friday, August 23, 2024, at 6 p.m., with a viewing from 4 to 6 p.m. in the auditorium of Emmanuel Baptist Church, 2200 W. Loop 281, Longview, TX.
