Phillip Madison Ferguson, a loving husband, father, and grandfather, passed away peacefully after a short illness on November 4, 2023, in Longview, Texas. Born on July 6, 1940, in Gilmer, Texas, Phillip spent his 83 years shaping the world around him with his kindness, humor, and gentle spirit.
Phillip was a dedicated and hardworking electrician, known for his meticulous attention to detail and his commitment to his craft. His work illuminated homes and businesses, much like his personality brightened the lives of those who knew him. Phillip found joy in attending the Faithfully Fit exercise class at Centre Presbyterian Church. His love for dancing was well known among his friends and family. Phillip and his beloved wife, Phyllis, shared a passion for traveling to state and federal parks with their RV. They also loved building and enjoying their cabin in Oklahoma. It was a place of tranquility and joy, where they could disconnect from the hustle and bustle of life and simply enjoy each other's company.
He was a devoted husband to his wife, Phyllis. He loved his family which includes his sons, Dale, Shane, and Troy, his son-in-law, Mike Burd, his sister, Marcha Lourie Good, his sister-in-law Cathey Metcalf, and his stepdaughter, Chris Dyer, and her husband, Richard. Phillip's love extended to his ten grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Phillip was preceded in death by his parents, Louie and Eddith Ferguson, daughter Angela Burd, and sister Donna Lewis.
Described as loving, gentle, and funny, Phillip had a unique ability to make people feel seen and valued. His warm personality and quick wit brought joy and laughter to those around him.
