Peggy Brown Life Story
Peggy Smith Brown met her Savior Jesus Christ face to face on April 11th 2025 at 12:13 a.m. Celebration of her life will be on Tuesday April the 22nd at 10:00 a.m. at Fellowship Baptist Church in Longview, Texas at 1818 Spring Hill Road, Longview, Texas 75605. Family will receive visitation at 9:00 a.m. before the services.
Peggy was born October 3rd, 1938 at Ragland Fenlaw Hospital in Gilmer, Texas to Della Lambert Smith. She attended Gilmer schools and graduated in 1957. Peggy met her high school sweetheart and love of her life Raymond Larry Brown. After attending Kilgore College together they married on June 12th, 1959 and made their home in Longview Texas. They would have celebrated 66 years of marriage this year.
Peggy and Larry moved several times during their marriage. They lived in Greenville Texas for several years and Peggy worked for LTV in the training department. They moved to Tyler for a few years and Peggy worked at General Electric Company in the purchasing department and then from there they moved back to Longview where Peggy was appointed one of the first senior buyers in the purchasing department at Texas Eastman. She retired after 24 years of service at Texas Eastman.
Her greatest joys of her life were her husband, her boys and family and her many friends. She enjoyed cooking. She was a devoted and praying wife, Mother, Grandmother, Great-grandmother and cousin and friend..
She is survived by her husband Raymond Larry Brown son Mike Brown, daughter-in-law Lisa Bassham Brown, son Scott Brown, grandchildren Ashley Brown Gilbreath and her husband Wesley and their children Reagan Gilbreath and Colt Gilbreath. Allison Brown Bell and her husband Ryan and their children Kinleigh Bell and Kyleigh Bell, Shelby Brown Currie and her husband Dylan. Dennis Brown and his wife Mandy and their son Hendrix Brown. Elizabeth Ramirez and Tristan Courville and their children Elia Courville, Gabriel Ramirez, MJ Garcia, and Faye Gonzalez. Nephew Kelly Smith and his wife Donna and family, nephew Keith Smith and his wife Holly and family, niece Rebecca Skinner and her husband Wayne and family, niece Dawn Johnson and her husband Dennis and family.
