Paul Bryant Life Story

Paul Bryant Sr. has been called home to be with the Lord on June 28, 2024. Born on March 13, 1939, in Longview, Texas, Paul's journey began as a son of the Lone Star State, and it was in the quiet comfort of Tatum, Texas, that he took his final breath. Paul, known affectionately to all as just "Paul," lived a life rich in love and labor. He was a master of his trade, a painter who, with a steady hand and a keen eye, brought color and life to every canvas that was the American landscape. Alongside his beloved wife, Donivee, they shared not only their work but also their dreams, as they built their family home with their own hands, a testament to their partnership and Paul's skill as a self-taught carpenter. His heart was as wide as the Texas sky, and his love for his family knew no bounds. Paul is survived by a lineage of love and legacy: his oldest son, Paul Bryant Jr. and his wife Elizabeth; his daughter, Tina Mckinley and her husband Mike; and his youngest son, Billy Bryant and his wife Kim. His spirit lives on through the joy and laughter of his many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and even great-great-grandchildren. Paul's sister, Claudette Moughon, alongside several adoring nieces and nephews, will carry forward the memories of the man who was their steadfast rock. Paul's passions were simple yet profound. He grew up hunting and fishing with his father and brothers. Dance floors across the state can attest to the love and joy shared between Paul and his precious Donivee, as they seized every chance to dance through life together. A God-fearing man, Paul was a long-time member of Lakeview Baptist Church in Longview, Texas. His faith was as much a part of him as the very air he breathed. He loved his church and church family deeply, and his devotion was evident in every aspect of his life. As the good book says, "Well done, good and faithful servant" (Matthew 25:23). Paul lived by these words, serving his Lord, his family, and his community with a heart full of grace and unwavering commitment. Today, as we reflect on the life of Paul Bryant Sr., we are reminded of the enduring words of the Apostle Paul: "For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain" (Philippians 1:21). In his passing, we find not just sorrow but also the promise of eternal life through Christ Jesus. We are comforted in knowing that Paul has gained the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, has awarded to him on this day. As we gather to bid farewell to this remarkable man, let us not dwell on the void left behind, but rather fill it with the love he shared, the wisdom he imparted, and the faith he lived by. Paul's life was a testament to the power of love, the strength of family, and the unshakable faith in the Almighty.. We say goodbye to Paul Bryant Sr., not with heavy hearts, but with a celebration of a life well-lived, a race well-run, and a faith well-kept. Let us carry his legacy forward, living each day with the same love, joy, and faith that he exemplified. Rest in peace Paul, until we meet again on that glorious shore. Your memory will be a blessing to all who knew you, and your spirit will continue to guide us for generations to come.
