Nancy Jewel Cox

Our sweet and beautiful mother Nancy Cox, passed away into the arms of the Lord on July 25, 2024 at the age of 73. She was born on May 10, 1951 in Longview, Texas to Howard and Maxine Willie. Nancy graduated from Kilgore High School and then went on to attend Kilgore Junior College and Stephen F. Austin State University. She graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Education. She was a devoted teacher who touched so many lives at Tatum ISD for 34 years.

Nancy's family was her greatest joy. She was preceded in death by her parents. Those left to cherish her memory are her daughters Kristine (David) Ashley and Kimberly Atkinson of Longview. Her sister Dorothy (Lewis) Johnagin of Carthage, and nephew Andy Johnagin. Her seven grandchildren Camron Wafer, Stella Barton, Jagger Barton, Aaron Ashley, Jaylen Mims, Kinsley Atkinson, and Morganne Minnaard. Nancy's legacy will live on through her children, grandchildren, and all the students she taught over the years.

We would like to send a special thank you to Heartsway Hospice, Dr. Koya, and the staff at Texas Oncology for the loving care that they gave her. As per our mom's request, a private celebration of life will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to the American Cancer Society or the Tatum ISD Education Foundation.
