Milly Kay Johnston-Green, age 77, passed away in Longview, Texas on Monday, April 10, 2023. She was born on May 19, 1945 in Marshall, Texas to Roy Chapman Johnston and Libby W. (Brassell) Johnston. Milly is preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Jean Johnston Dinkle. She is survived by her son, Christopher William Aicklen and wife, Haley; her grandson, Alex "Lex" Aicklen; Chris' father, Clyde William Aicklen; her nephews, Mitch Dinkle and Matt Dinkle and wife, Patty; her great-nieces, Kelly Dinkle Burrows and husband, Cody, Lindsay Dinkle Slaten and husband, Lance; her great-nephews, Kurt Dinkle and wife, Whitney, William Dinkle; numerous great-great nephews and many friends who knew and loved her. Milly grew up in Atlanta, Texas and graduated high school there in 1963. She was a graduate of Texas A&M with a Bachelors degree and received her masters degree at Stephen F. Austin State University. She retired from the hotel industry as Corporate Marketing Director, moving back to Marshall in 1995. Milly became very involved in the Marshall community and spent many years devoting her time and energy to the Marshall Chamber of Commerce, the Rotary Club, Marshall Symphony Society and the Harrison County Extension Agency. She was a member in good standing as alumni of the Alpha Delta Pi Sorority. Milly taught school in Hallsville and Carrollton/Farmers Branch. She was a dance instructor for Arabesque Dance Company in Dallas, was a professional dancer with Dallas Ballet Company and a member of the Dallas Cowboy Cheerleader Association. She was a true blessing to each community she was involved with, never met a stranger and worked hard making each place better, stronger and more family friendly. Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 13, 2023 from 5pm-7pm at Sullivan Funeral Home. Graveside service will be held on Friday, April 14, 2023 at 10:00am at Fairview Cemetery with Rev. Rusty Rustenhaven officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials in Milly's name to Cumberland Presbyterian Church, Marshall Rotary Club or Mission Marshall.
