Mildred attended school at Union Ridge where she received her High School diploma. After high school, she embraced the role of a homemaker. With her husband, Warren, Mildred's life was one of shared joy and companionship for 73 years. Together, they raised two daughters, Betty Rice and Sylvia Bales, both of Longview. Her family circle expanded to include her caring sons-in-law, Charles Rice and Richard Bales, now deceased. Mildred's legacy continued to flourish with her four grandchildren: Steven Rice and wife, Dawn of Hallsville, Texas; Stacey Thompson and husband, John of Conway, Arkansas; Dale Bales of Havelock, North Carolina; and Chris Bales and wife, Margie of Longview, Texas. Each grandchild was a source of immense joy and pride for her. Mildred is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Warren; One brother; and three sisters.
She was an avid collector of Dallas Cowboys memorabilia and rarely missed watching a game. Her enthusiasm for her favorite team was infectious, and she could often be found recounting the highlights of each game with a twinkle in her eye.
A private funeral service will be held and she will be interred at Memory Park Cemetery next to Warren.
