Michael Walter Myers

Beloved son, cherished brother, devoted uncle and friend to many, Michael Walter Myers, age 40, passed away at his home in Waskom, TX on Saturday, June 3, 2023.  

Michael was born on January 24, 1983 in Shreveport, LA to Danny Ray and Rene Gail Myers.  He is survived by his parents, Danny and Rene; his brothers, Tim Myers and wife, Amanda, Andrew Myers and wife, Dawn, Trevor Myers and wife, Lauren; his sisters, Deah Dalton and husband, Doug and Lizzie Myers and husband, Robbie Gibson; numerous nieces, nephews; other family members, friends and Oscar Garcia, who was like a brother to Michael.  

He graduated from Waskom High School with the class of 2001, attended TSTC receiving his Certificate in Safety Engineering and Industrial Hygiene and worked in the oil field business for twenty years.  

He excelled as a basketball player in high school and played football during that time.  Michael loved all sports, especially New Orleans Saints football.  He always found time to help his family and friends in need…whether it be helping his brother, Andrew and Dawn finish their home; helping his sister, Deah and Doug with yard projects; helping his parents move; helping his sister, Lizzie at home after the birth of her baby, RJ…he was always there to help but his true passion in life was his family.  He loved to eat and his specialty was the best rotel dip he made for every family gathering. 

Michael battled many demons, but he had a wonderful, caring heart.  He loved God and was a born again Christian and will be missed by all that knew him.  

A time of visitation will be held at First Baptist Church in Waskom, TX on Friday, June 9, 2023 from 9am-10am.  Funeral service will be held at 10:00am immediately following the visitation with Bro. Ivy Shelton officiating.  Burial will be in Restland Cemetery in Waskom where he will be laid to rest by his family.  Online condolences may be offered at www.cammackfamily.com
