Maxie Ford Life Story

Maxie Ford 85 of Longview Tx. Passed away peacefully at her home on October 1, 2025
Maxie was born May 28, 1940, in Rusk County to Ray and Maxine
Coker. Maxie grew up in Longview and graduated from Longview High School. Maxie worked at the Arlene theater during her high school years. Maxie was a long-time member of Mobberly Baptist church and later became a member of Lakeview Baptist church.
In 1959 Maxie married W.L. Ford and together they owned and operated Fords Grocery at Lake Cherokee. Maxie loved her customers and made a lot of friends and many became family to her. Maxie had a love for animals and liked to do pastel paintings and sewing.
Maxie started line dancing shortly after the close of the store and loved all her dancing friends.
Maxie is proceeded in death by her husband W.L. Ford, her parents Ray and Maxine Coker, brothers Billy and Bobby Coker.
Left to cherish her memory is her son Stephen Ford of Longview, daughter Carolyn Hines (Nick) of Longview, Grandchildren, Brianna Emfinger (Ryan) of Tyler Tx. Wyatt Lane Hines of Tyler Tx. And Great Grandchildren Ellis, Cameron, Graham Emfinger and Shepherd Emfinger due in February and Sister In-Law Karen Coker
The family would like to thank Billie Becarra, Maxie's care giver, who took such good care of her 24 hours a day. Maxie loved Billie and would call her, her best friend.
Serving as pallbearers are José Luis Becerra, Justin Hale, Stephen Ford, Nick Hines, Wyatt Lane Hines, Ryan Emfinger, and honorary pallbearer Terry Tyson.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Lakeview Baptist Church

A service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, October 3, 2025 at Lakeview Baptist Church, 10522 FM 2011 Longview, Texas 75603 followed by a graveside service at Stewart Cemetery.
