Mary Helen Tower, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully in her home in Ragley, Louisiana on July 26, 2025. Born on November 12, 1941, in Longview, Texas, Mary lived a life marked by dedication to her family, her faith, and her community. Mary was a graduate of East Mountain High School. Later in life, at the age of 53, she pursued her passion of caring for others, graduating from nursing school and starting a fulfilling 20-year career as a floor nurse at Good Shepherd Hospital. Beyond her professional life, Mary was deeply involved in her community, dedicating her time to church events, PTA, Girl Scouts, and band activities. She was known to all as more than just a mom or a nurse; she was a friend to everyone she met, touching countless lives with her warmth and kindness. Mary is preceded in death by her devoted husband, Dewey Lane Tower; her son-in-law, Stephen Montgomery; and her grandson, Dakota Montgomery. She is lovingly remembered by her son, Gary Tower(Sharon) of Gilmer; her daughters, Diahann Andrews (Stefan) of Denton; Dedee Hartman (Jack) of Big Sandy; and Lanette Babineaux (Neil) of Ragley, Louisiana. Mary leaves behind a cherished legacy of 9 grandchildren: Jeffery Tower (Amanda), Erica Holder(Tyler), Amanda Davis (Ryan), Kurt Wilson(Macie), Cheyenne Montgomery, Briana Simon(Skylar), Drew Wilson, Grace Wilson, and Faith Andrews. She was also blessed with 10 great-grandchildren: Ezra, Moriah, Judah, Emma, Charlotte, Beckham, Emerson, Briar, Colt, and Kansas, with baby Sullivan on the way. She is also survived by her two brothers, Marvin and Dewayne Jenkins, and a host of cousins, nieces, and nephews. A Life Celebration® for Mary Helen Tower, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, August 4th, 2025 in the Cammack Family Chapel. The family will receive friends for a time of visitation one hour prior to the service.
