Mary Richmond Life Story

Mary Katherine Kathy Alexander Richmond passed away peacefully surrounded in love by family on August 14, 2020 at her home in White Oak, Texas. She was born December 10,1935 in Barnwell, Alabama, to Lawrence Lucian Mark Red Alexander and Irma Ernestine Teen Rachel Alexander. Services for Mary/Kathy will be held on August 20, 2020 with Pastors Thomas McDaniel and Phillip Valenti officiating. Visitation will be at 9:00-10:00am with the service following at 10:00. The family will be going to the graveside after the service. Those who care to go are welcome.

Kathy grew up in Barnwell, the third child of ten. She attended Barnwell School until she married and moved away. In 1969 she got her GED in Ewa Beach, Hawaii. She took some college courses and went back to school with an adopted sibling to help her graduate.

Kathy and Don met through his brother and her sister. They were married September 21, 1973 in Rancho Palos Verdes, California. Kathy and Don were blessed with 4 children. They lived in Irvine, California until they moved to Texas in 2005.

Kathy was a faithful Christian servant and loved the Lord with all of her heart. Kathy worked for the Navy Exchange in Hawaii and California. She was a beloved homemaker, Brownie Scout Leader, Ladies Auxiliary Leader, Ladies Christian Auxiliary Leader, volunteer for the school and volunteer at Lifebridge Church where she was a member. She attended the 49ers Class and was faithful to bring them donuts on Sundays.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Don, both parents, Red and Teen, five sisters, Irma Richmond, Lavonia Deer, Jan Smith, Arabelle Alexander and Barbara Mothershed, and great grand daughter Georgia Hope Hays.

She is survived by her daughter and husband, Irma/Tina McLane and Ronnie, three sons and wives Phil and Maribeth Richmond, Addis and Karen Richmond and Don and Gretchen Richmond. 14 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; 6 great great grandchildren and 1 due in March 2021. Four brothers and wives, Frank and Beth Alexander, Al and Sally Alexander, John Alexander and Greg and Peg Alexander and lots of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
