Marilyn Marcum Life Story

Marilyn Marcum went home to be with Jesus on January 25, 2025. She is survived by her
husband, Tom, her two daughters Rachel and Marya, her brother, Bill, sister, Mary Ellen, her son-in-law, Marcus, and her grandchildren Ashton, Jonas, Madelyn, Thomas, and great
grandson, Kai.

Marilyn was born to Wilborn and Thelma Proctor on January 6, 1941, in Searcy, Arkansas. She lived her early years in Wynne, AR, before her family moved to Guatemala, then settled in Scottsboro, Alabama. After college, Marilyn met Tom in Huntsville, Alabama, and over the years, they lived in FL, AL, TN, SC, and TX.

Marilyn was a beloved wife of 58 years, a devoted mother, and a loving grandmother. She gave her life to living for the Lord and to loving her family. There was nothing she enjoyed more than time with her husband, children, and grandchildren.

As an accomplished artist, Marilyn created masterpieces from a variety of mediums. Her
specialty for many years was watercolor, but she recently discovered a new favorite in graphite. She was even known to design paper dolls on a church bulletin for her fidgety six-year-old. Marilyn delighted in cooking, and expressed her love by making special recipes for those closest to her. She could make something delicious from most anything, and a little salt, butter, and sugar never hurt!

Marilyn taught her children and grandchildren about working hard, loving with grace, giving to others, and a life of faith and integrity. She was beautiful and kind, faithful, virtuous, strong and steadfast.

"She is clothed with strength and dignity... Many women do noble things, but you surpass them all."- Proverbs 31:25,29 (paraphrased)
