Margaret Elaine Powell, known fondly to friends and family as Elaine, passed away peacefully on April 9, 2025, at the age of 67 in Longview, Texas. Born on January 20, 1958, in Grand Prairie, Texas, Elaine lived a life marked by love, service, and a relentless zest for life. Elaine leaves behind a legacy of warmth and kindness, evidenced by her 33-year marriage to her beloved husband, Mack Powell. Their marriage was a testament to devotion and mutual support. She was a cherished sister to Lynette Morris of Linden, TX, and Kathy Sullivan, along with her husband John L. Sullivan of Marshall, TX. Elaine's role as a stepmother to Brandon Powell of Dickinson, TX, was filled with the same love and care she gave to her cherished nieces, nephews and numerous other relatives, along with special friends and her adored four-legged companion, Lokie, will miss her bright presence dearly. Elaine was preceded in death by her parents, Charlie Lee Harrison and Dorothy Louverna (Williams) Harrison, and her sisters, Brenda Harrell, Sue Ginn, Linda Sharp, Tessie Sanchez, Marjean Harrison, and Charlene Harrison. Throughout her professional life, Elaine was a dedicated administrative assistant in the insurance industry. Her colleagues knew her as a reliable and friendly presence, always ready to lend a hand or offer a word of encouragement. Her work ethic and commitment to her role were unwavering, and she made a lasting impression on all who worked alongside her. Elaine's heart was never still, always reaching out to those around her. She was particularly caring towards older ladies, providing support and companionship. Her involvement in her church and her faith were central to her life, and she exemplified what it means to be a fine Christian woman with a servant's heart. Elaine's faith was her compass, and she navigated life's challenges with grace and unwavering belief. Her interests and hobbies were as varied as they were passionate. Crafting was not just a pastime for Elaine; it was a way to create and share beauty. Her garden was a place of peace and joy, where she nurtured plants with the same tenderness she showed to people. In the kitchen, her cooking was a love language, with each dish prepared to bring comfort and happiness to those she served. Elaine's love for music and movement meant she was always ready for a new adventure. Whether it was dining out, exploring new places, or simply enjoying the company of friends and family, Elaine embraced life with open arms. Her laughter and love of song were infectious, and she had the remarkable ability to make every moment count. To have known Elaine was to know a person who truly understood the art of living. Her spirit was generous, her hugs were legendary, and her ability to love unconditionally was unmatched. Elaine will be remembered not just for the life she lived, but for the lives she touched. Her memory will continue to inspire those who knew her to live fully, love deeply, and laugh often. As we bid farewell to Elaine, we celebrate a life beautifully lived and a heart generously shared. Her memory will forever be a beacon of joy and love. Though she may be gone from our sight, the essence of who she was remains forever interwoven in the fabric of our memories. Elaine's journey on earth has ended, but her story will continue to be told by those who loved her and were loved by her in return. Serving as pallbearers will be Brad Sharp, James Harrison, Patrick Pearson, Douglas Ocker, Craig Henry, Glen Young, Kevin Tomlinson and Roger Smith.
