Margaret Petty Life Story
Margaret Lythene Petty, 80, of Longview Texas, passed away on February 14, 2024.
Margaret, who preferred to go by Lythene, was born in Kilgore Texas on January 6, 1944. She lived the early years of her life in Kilgore before moving to Longview about 30 years ago.
She was predeceased by her beloved mother (Ethel Bostick Miller) and her father (Chester "Doc" Ray Miller) and 2 brothers (Robert Miller and Jet Lewis). She was the widow of James "Jim" Petty.
Margaret (Lythene) spent many years of her life in service to others by working to enhance the lives of people who have a disability.
She was a beloved mother of 3 children and was an animal lover. She had wonderful friends, some of whom referred to her lovingly as "Mom", and she viewed them as being part of her family. She will be deeply missed by her children, friends, and "fur-babies".
She is survived by her children David York (son), Robert Woodmansee (son), Monica Wrye (daughter), Kenneth Wrye (son-in-law), grandchildren Catherine Geil and Joe Lewis, and great grandchildren Devon, Nathan, and Wesley.
