Margaret Kathleen Harris's work on this earth is done. She left us to spread joy in heaven on August 22nd, 2020. Margaret, affectionately known as Gammy by her family, was born in Fort Worth, Texas on November 27th, 1920. She used her 99 years to touch many lives and will be greatly missed.
After living through the great depression, Margaret joined the Unites States Women's Corp where she served for two years. After the war Margaret attended Baylor University where she earned her Master's degree in education. She taught school in Texas for many years before retiring in 1979.
Margaret was preceded in death by her son-in-law and daughter George and Sharon Rushton.
She is survived by her grandsons: Biff Rushton of Montgomery, Texas and Kip and wife Janet Rushton of Longview, Texas. Great-granddaughters: Lyndey Bruton, Shelby, Bailey, and Courtney Rushton, as well as great-great granddaughter Margaret Elizabeth Bruton.
A Life Celebration service will be held on Tuesday August 25th, 2020 at 10:00AM at Welch Funeral Home, Longview, Texas.
