Louise Moore O'Connor, 92, of Longview, Texas, passed away peacefully at home on February 18, 2026. She was born March 17, 1933, in Overton, Texas. She grew up in Kilgore and later made her home in Longview, where she spent most of her life.
Louise married William O'Connor, and together they raised three children: Sharon, Bill, and Linda. While William made a career with Schlitz-Stroh Brewing Company, Louise ran the home and did what needed to be done. Later in life, she worked outside the home as a sitter for the elderly.
Louise had plenty of personality and wasn't shy about her opinions. If she liked something, you knew about it. If she didn't, you really knew about it. She was a wonderful cook, and many cherished memories were made in the kitchen and around the dining room table. She never showed a lack of appreciation for a good meal at any home or establishment, and she enjoyed every bite. She also loved sitting in her sunroom watching the birds and seeing what the neighbors were up to. It was also no secret she was a dedicated Dillard's shopper, building a collection of shoes and clothes that could rival a small department store.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William O'Connor; her parents, Coy and Lilla Moore; her brother, James Cox; her sister, Jean Daughtery, and her husband, Charles; her son-in-law, Rick Williams; and her great-grandson, Collin Williams.
She is survived by her children, Sharon Williams, Bill O'Connor, and Linda Johnston (Brian); grandchildren, Sloan Williams (Amy), Slade Williams (Beth Ann), Cameron Cook, Lacey Prosenjak (Lee), and Colton Cook (Kira); and many great-grandchildren.
The family is deeply grateful to her son, Bill O'Connor, and Lori Daniel for their devoted care and support, which made it possible for Louise to remain at home during her final years.
A small graveside service will be held Wednesday, February 25, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Old Kilgore Cemetery.
