Lloyd Ervin Whitehurst, Jr.

Lloyd Ervin Whitehurst, Jr., age 74, passed away at his home in Marshall, Texas on Sunday, November 12, 2023. He was born on October 29, 1949 in Longview, Texas to Lloyd Ervin Whitehurst, Sr. and Elizabeth Ann Strohe Whitehurst.

Lloyd is preceded in death by his parents; and his sister, Angelia Whitehurst. He is survived by his children, William Lloyd "Todd" Whitehurst and Tonja Joyce Nabors; his grandchildren, Evelyn Pearson and Cody Nabors; his great-grandson, Cooper Pearson; his sister, Debra Flowers; his nieces, Misty Trinkler and Christy Shay; his special friends, Tommy and Jalene Martin; numerous other family members and friends who knew and loved him.

Lloyd loved marbles, football, playing the guitar, the History Channel and Fox News. At a very young age of 16 he started working at the Marshall Sonic, eventually becoming a Sonic Corporate Manager where he worked for many years until his retirement. He then went to work as a Maintenance Engineer for Ober Gatlinburg Ski Resort in the Smokey Mountains until he returned to Marshall to be close to his family.

Funeral Service will be held at The Cammack Family Sullivan Funeral Home on Thursday, November 16, 2023 at 10:00am with Bro. Danny Warbington officiating. Visitation will be held immediately following the service. Private interment will be held at Greenwood Cemetery where he will be laid to rest in his family plot. Honorary Pallbearers will be Tommy Martin, William Galaviz, Mike Brown, Cody Nabors and Anthony Farina.
