Letha Gruver Life Story

Letha Mae Brinson Gruver was born July 16, 1930, to James William Brinson and Lillie Mae Brinson in O'Donnell, Texas. Letha, AKA- Mother, Mother Dear, Mummer, MeeMaw & Meems to children, grands and great grands. She attended and graduated from Coleman High School, Howard Payne College (bachelor's degree) and University of Houston (Master's degree). While attending Howard Payne College in Brownwood, Texas she met her husband of sixty years, Earnest A Gruver. Her early life was lived in the Coleman, Brownwood, and Comanche, Texas areas, her midlife years in the Pasadena/ Deer Park areas and later years in Longview and Kingwood, Texas. Letha raised her four children, Bruce; Gayle; Grace and Jean as she worked as housewife, mother, educator, children's worker and pastor's wife.

Letha's life goal was to love and serve Jesus and sharing her life with friends, family and peers. Her frequent remark to friends and family was remarking on the soon return of Jesus and her greatest desire was for all her children, their spouses and grandchildren to be ready for Jesus' return.

She is entered into the doorway of death of this physical life and is preceded by her parents James & Lillie Brinson and husband Earnest Gruver, but as she entered death, she awakened in the eternal rest in the presence of Jesus forever. As the apostle Paul stated, "I have run a good race and now enter into the reward stored for me." Letha's life is a memorial of the grace, love, provision and guidance of the Holy Spirit active in a person who is totally committed to living for the King of Kings. She would have desired that anyone that does not personally know Jesus that either thru her life and death or by any other means, that person would make a life commitment to Lord Jesus Christ.

Letha was not able to tell all "goodbye" for now, but would want all those family members, educator peers, church members and wherever she might have met you to know she appreciated knowing and working alongside you. Her invitation to "join me in the presence of Jesus" is extended to all.
