Leonard Page Williams, age 89, passed away peacefully and went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on May 15, 2019 in Longview, Texas
Page was born in Paris, Texas, the first of three children to Russell and Ruby Williams on May 21, 1929. Page married Helen (Peggy) Broyles on October 22, 1949. They were married for 69 years. Page and Peggy had three daughters and one son, nine grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren. He was a long-time resident of Longview, Texas and worked as a meat market manager for A&P, Brookshire’s and Kroger Food for over 20 years .
His true passion was cattle ranching where he was born and raised in Paris, Texas. Page was a hard worker and loved the outdoors. He was member of Fellowship Baptist Church in Longview.
Page was preceded in death by his parents Russell and Ruby Williams, daughter and son-in-law Barbara and Joe Wolfe and grandsons Joseph (Jody) and James (Jamie) Wolfe. He is survived by his wife Peggy Williams of Longview, his three children and their spouses, Debbie and Lloyd Littlefield (Diana, TX), David and Phyllis Williams (Longview, Texas), Bretta and Mickey Mehrens (Longview, Texas), sister Melba Philley (Paris,Tx) and brother, Wayne Williams (Aubrey, TX), grandchildren, great-grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.
The family would like to extend a special word of thanks to the Summer Meadows Nursing staff, HeartsWay Hospice and the many friends and caregivers that have provided excellent care and support over the last year and a half.
A Life Celebration funeral service will be held at on Friday, May 17th, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Welch Funeral Home. A family graveside will be held at Mt. Tabor Cemetery in Caviness, Texas on Saturday May 18th, 2019 at 11:00 a.m.
