Kenneth Myrwin Smith

Kenneth Myrwin Smith, affectionately known as "Papa" and "Grandad" was born October 17, 1939, and passed into the arms of our Heavenly Father on January 14, 2023. He was a wonderful father, son, husband, uncle, brother, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend to all who knew him.

Kenneth served in the United States Navy on the U.S.S. Helena. After his time in the Navy, Kenneth began his 30 year long career working for STEMCO Manufacturing.

He was preceded in death by his parents, R.Z. and Ethel Smith; wife, Melissa Smith; brothers, Glen and Gaylon Smith; sister, Charolette Bates; and great grandson, Jacob Lee Smith.

Kenneth is survived by Daughters, Sharon Smith of Longview, Texas and Kathy Hobgood of Gilmer, Texas; grandchildren, Brandi Smith and Amanda Stepp of Gilmer, Texas; Kenneth Tabor of Austin, Texas; Jennifer Bounds and husband, Neil of Mumford, Tennessee; 5 great grandchildren; brothers Larry Smith of Califonia, Edward Shelton Smith and wife Vicki of South Carolina and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 18, 2023 at The Cammack Family Welch Funeral Home from 5:00 - 7:00 P.M. A Life Celebration Funeral Services will be held Thursday, January 19, 2023 at 2:00 P.M. at The Cammack Family Welch Funeral Home located at 4619 Judson Road in Longview.
