Kathy J Morris

Kathy Jean Vann Morris, 64, of Marshall passed from her earthly life on March 14, 2023 after a very short illness.

She was born April 17, 1958, to Joe A. Vann Sr. and Mary E. Rich. Both of her parents and all grandparents passed before her. She is also predeceased by her mother-in-law Bernice Morris, father-in-law Emory Morris, brothers-in-law Randall Morris and Gregg Morris, as well as her sister-in-law, Kelly Morris. Her great-granddaughter, Malia Ann Morris was also waiting on her Nana in heaven.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband, John Morris Sr., her son John Morris Jr, and wife Gisele, her daughter Samantha Hays, and husband Heath, grandchildren Lane, Madison, Blaine, and Blake. She also leaves behind her big brothers Joe Vann and Jerry Vann as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, other family members, and friends.

Kathy Jean, as most of her friends lovingly called her, was truly one of a kind. She loved all animals and kids. Whether they were hers or not, she had a special place in her heart for them. Kathy often "adopted" friends of her children and would welcome anyone into her home always offering food. You never doubted that everything she gave you was made with love (just know she always licked the spoon). She was a caregiver for many years and loved helping others. Don't let the lovingness fool you, she was often quick to tell you how she really felt (especially to her husband). Her sass and quick wit were some of her best qualities. That sassiness can still be found as it comes so naturally from her children and grandchildren.
