Karen Lynn Trice Cason, 55, of Leigh, TX, passed away on January 1, 2025, to be with the Lord. A Life Celebration will take place on Monday, January 6, 2025, at 11:00 A.M. in the Little Chapel at Colonial Gardens Cemetery, in Marshall, TX. Visitation will be from 10:00 am to 11:00 am.
Born on September 15, 1969, in Shreveport, LA, to Charles and Evelyn Trice, Karen grew up on the family cattle ranch in Leigh, TX, with her three brothers. She graduated from Elysian Fields High School and attended business classes at Panola Jr. College. Karen worked at the Shreveport Credit Bureau and Circle C Oilfield Services in various administrative roles. However, her most cherished role was being a loving and nurturing mother to her only daughter, Kadie Lynn Cason.
Karen loved the simplicity of country life and shared this passion with her daughter, Kadie. They enjoyed many adventures together, with their most treasured moments spent admiring the sunrise. As a leukemia survivor for the past 12 years, Karen cherished each new day as a blessing.
Karen was preceded in death by her parents, Evelyn Trice, Charles and Edna Trice, as well as her grandparents, William and Minnie Trice, and Wilburn and Edna Randall. She is survived by her daughter, Kadie Lynn Cason; three brothers, Jim Harris (Liz), Dave Trice (Brenda), and Garett Trice (Carley); a nephew, Jake Harris; her aunt, Dorothy MacArthur; and many cousins.
Karen had a special love for butterflies, and it is fitting to remember her as our butterfly, an angel who has finally earned her wings.
The family extends their gratitude to Amedisys Hospice for the compassionate care they provided to Karen during her illness.
