Judy Nation Life Story

In Loving Memory of
Judy Ann Nation
October 10, 1947 - July 23, 2025

Judy Ann Nation, beloved daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully at her home in East Mountain on July 23, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. Born on October 10, 1947, in Gilmer, Texas, the daughter of Arthur Clyde and Doris Anderson. Throughout her life, Judy was defined by her warmth, gentle kindness and her unwavering faith.

Judy was preceded in death by her parents, as well as her brother, Harold Anderson, Sr. Her legacy continues through her three daughters: Lisa Meixelsperger of McKinney, Tabatha and her husband Adam Stanford of East Mountain, and Randi and her husband Daniel Rowe of Longview. Judy was the cherished grandmother of Whitney Matter and Emma Stanford, Preslie Fuller, Gage, Maverick and Houston Rowe, and Taylor and Jordan Meixelsperger, and a proud great-grandmother to Jhett, Maisyn, Bailee, Posie Kate, and Lavendar. She is survived by her brothers, Robert Anderson of Gilmer and John Anderson of Nacogdoches and her sister, Beverly Tabor of Longview, and many nephews and nieces. Judy's life was enriched by her companionship with her special significant other, Joe-Butch Rice.

Judy worked at Stroh's Brewery and was a blackjack dealer in Shreveport, before enjoying a well-deserved retirement. She was a woman of grace and style-always dressed to impress, with a quick wit and a talent for making those around her laugh. Her compassionate heart extended to every stray cat that found its way to her door, and she delighted in shopping on QVC, as well as spending time with family and friends.

Above all, Judy's faith was central to her life. A devoted Baptist, she loved Jesus and found comfort in the promise of eternal life. She was ever-curious about scripture, always eager to deepen her understanding of God's word.

In keeping with her wishes, there will be no formal funeral services or visitation. A celebration of Judy's remarkable life and legacy will be August 30th at the home of Adam and Tabatha Stanford located at 5119 Salter Lane, Gilmer, TX beginning at 5:30 P.M. Her family invites all who knew her to remember her joy, her laughter, and her loving spirit. She will be dearly missed and forever cherished by all who knew and loved her.
