John K Jones

John K. Jones left this earthly life for his eternal home in Heaven on May 14, 2023, at the age of 82. He worked for Trinity Industries before retiring after 30 years.

Johnny loved fishing, hunting, and had never met a stranger. He and his wife, Suzan took joy in spending the last 12 years volunteering at Lake O' the Pines state parks. Johnny loved volunteering because he was able to meet new people every week and was able to make lots of friends.

He was incredibly proud of his grandkids, and loved telling everyone about them and showing their pictures. He also had a love for animals, and fed over 30 deer every day in the park at 5:00. He loved people watching his deer.

Johnny was preceded in death by his parents, Elna J. Fleniken and Lemen Floyd Jones; his two brothers, Lemen Earl and Melvin Roy Jones; and his beloved pug, Ollie. Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 54 years, Suzan Jones; his daughter and son in law, Lisa and Darrel Wright of Tatum; his precious grandchildren, Kogan and Krista Wright of Odessa and Kalen Wright of Tatum; and his adored pets, Pete and Poppie.

The family would like to invite friends for a time of visitation for John K Jones from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 18, 2023, in The Garden Court of The Cammack Family Welch Funeral Home.
