Joe Bruce Jones

We regret to announce the passing of Joe B. Jones. Joe was born in Gonzales, Texas, on August 18, 1931, Joe's journey through life was strengthened by his fight as a polio survivor. Joe was a proud graduate of Corpus Christi High School, class of 1950, and soon thereafter, he answered the call of duty by serving his country in the U.S. Army. As a paratrooper in the esteemed 101st Airborne Division, he exemplified courage and patriotism from 1951 to 1954. After his military service, he embarked on a career with the U.S. Postal Service, from which he retired with distinction. His work ethic was further evidenced by his lifetime of farming, tending to cattle and timber on the very land he so loved.

Joe's legacy is carried forward by his sons, Joe B. Jones Jr., and his wife, Frances, his younger son, Michael Alan Jones, and his treasured grandchildren, Kyle B. Jones and Lauren E. Jones, who will forever remember his strength, wisdom, and the love he so generously shared. Also survived by nieces Heather Peri of Moraga, CA and Erin Gray of Charleston SC and many other nieces and nephews.

He now joins in eternal rest with his parents, Joe Bailey Jones and Lillian Viola Freeberg, his sisters, Betty Connerly and Georgana Gray, and his wife, Kathlene "Kat" Moore Jones, who he married on October 12, 1956.

He was a spirited soul, who found joy in the laughter of his grandchildren, the adventure of travel, the simple pleasure of a fine cigar, and the loyal companionship of his German Shepherd dogs.

Graveside services will be Wednesday, February 18, 2026, at 1:00PM at Andrews Cemetery in Karnack.
