Jimmy Mike Green passed away on April 1, 2023, after a lengthy illness. He was born on September 27, 1951, in Amherst, Texas to parents, Donald Green and Mary Sutton, and was raised mainly in West Texas.
He married his wife, Debra in 1973, meaning their relationship has lasted nearly 50 years. Together, they had three sons.
Jimmy worked in the oilfield industry for about 40 years. He loved it and he was good at it. Many people knew him in his wire-line work, he was either famous or infamous. He also enjoyed fishing, hunting, and gardening. Jimmy had a special friend in his father-in-law, JD. They had many fishing adventures together, especially when his sons were young.
Jimmy loved going to his granddaughter, Hannah's softball games. He was also an avid coin collector, and spent nearly every day he had off, in his shop piddlin on something.
He was a member of Hallsville Church of Christ, and had many friends there as well as at Northside Church of Christ in Hallsville.
Jimmy was preceded in death by his father; mother; stepfather; brother; and son, Brandon.
He is survived by his wife, Debra; son, Trey and wife, Mandy; son, Bryce and wife, Delia; and his six grandchildren, Trevor; Hannah; Brooks; Mavvrick; Belle; and Addison.
A Life Celebration® memorial service for Jimmy Mike Green, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, April 7, 2023, in The Chapel of The Cammack Family Welch Funeral Home.
